GEO-SNM (Self-contained sound noise level meter)

Purpose.

Self-contained digital spectral sound noise level meter GEO-SNM is intended for the registration of the intensity and spectral characteristics of acoustic noise along the well to identify intervals of fluid flow and gas, as well as behind-casing flows, accompanied by acoustic noise in the well when hydrodynamic and geophysical studies, drilling, production and injection wells.

The tool registers the signal from the piezoelectric sensor at a specified equal time intervals and stores them in 512 frequency bands. The recording of information is performed in digital form in the internal non-volatile memory of the tool. As memory chips using flash-memory, which allows you to save information when the power source. After operation, the measurement data is read into the computer for processing and analysis. Data can be saved on your PC and transfer to other data processing program.

To increase the dynamic range the tool uses two channels with different gain. This allows using the channel with less gain when channel with high gain is overdriven.
